Skopje, 29 December 2023 (MIA) - An agreement was signed Friday for overhaul of two Skopje-based student dormitories within the project for their energy-efficient rehabilitation.

The project will encompass all nine state student dormitories in Skopje, Prilep, Bitola, Shtip and Ohrid.

Today's agreement, signed with contractor "Strabag AG", relates to the first of the three stages of the rehabilitation works, covering Skopje-based dormitories "Stiv Naumov" and "Kuzman Josifovski-Pitu".

Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski said the dormitories would be overhauled over a period of 18 months.

"This large capital investment is funded by EUR 20 million from the German KfW Development Bank and an EUR 5 million grant of the EU Regional Energy Efficiency Programme," said PM Kovachevski.

Minister of Education and Science Jeton Shaqiri, acting EU Ambassador Steffen Hudolin, and German Deputy Ambassador Otto Graf also addressed the event.
