Zaev: Tetovo tragedy should not be used for political profiteering
Skopje, 20 September 2021 (MIA) – Prime Minister and SDSM leader Zoran Zaev has reiterated in the Kanal 5 TV duel with VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski that he would wait for the results of the investigation over the fire in the Tetovo modular hospital and then decide on the resignations of Health Minister Venko Filipche and his Deputy Ilir Hasani. PM Zaev says the expertise would only be an additional input in his decision. “A big tragedy happened, an enormous loss. The resignations were submitted out of moral reasons and the Government and the Ministry of Health bear large responsibility. I would like to know all details of the investigation – cause for the fire, possible shortcomings and who is responsible – in order to take the decision,” says Zaev. After Mickoski accused Zaev for the tragedy, saying the modular hospital was put into use without a proper document for this, the PM said the goal of VMRO-DPMNE’s lies is political profiteering. “You are rambling and saying things that are far from the truth. The modular hospitals were constructed like in other countries, all procedures were considered and we are not the ones to comment on the investigation. It befits you to abuse this tragedy because of your wish for power and political profiteering. People know this,” said Zaev.
