VMRO-DPMNE's Mickoski meets Orban in Budapest to discus EU accession, migrant crisis
Skopje, 25 July 2022 (MIA) – VMRO-DPMNE Leader Hristijan Mickoski, together with the party’s Vice President, Aleksandar Nikoloski, met the Prime Minister of Hungary and leader of their sister party Fidesz, Viktor Orban, in Budapest on Monday.
The party said in a press release that Macedonia’s EU accession was discussed at the meeting. Mickoski expressed the position, according to him, of VMRO-DPMNE and the Macedonian people, that the EU integration is necessary, but that it should be dignified and with a protection of the identity marks of the Macedonian people.
“It was also noted that the most difficult winter in history awaits Macedonia and the EU, with great challenges concerning energy and stocking up on fuel. Mickoski noted that the Macedonian Government does not take the proper steps to deal with the energy crisis, it is not securing coal, mazut, gas and oil derivatives on time, but when the peak of the crisis comes large sums of money are wasted on resources which would have been cheaper to secure on time,” said VMRO-DPMNE in the press release.
According to VMRO-DPMNE, another point of discussion was the migrant crisis and both sides agreed that this is an issue for the country and for the EU as well. ad/ba/
