Skopje, 18 May 2023 (MIA) - USAID’s Strengthening Resource Mobilization Activity is organising on Thursday third inauguration ceremony on partnering for more efficient municipalities event.

The event will recognize the successes of the first cohort of 15 municipalities and will include signing of memorandums of cooperation with new partner municipalities.

Finance Minister Fatmir Besimi, Minister of Local Self-Government Risto Penov, US Ambassador to North Macedonia Angela Price Aggeler and representatives of partner municipalities will deliver remarks at the event.

Strengthening Resource Mobilization Activity (SRMA) is a five-year project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). It assists North Macedonia’s municipalities to raise and independently manage the resources necessary to fund services demanded by its citizens. The project is designed to collaborate directly
with all 81 municipalities to build capacity and improve local government functions to bring greater accountability and decision-making responsibilities closer to citizens.
