Trenchevska: Unions have new demands, final text to be reviewed Tuesday, agreement to be signed
- Minister of Labor and Social Policy, Jovanka Trenchevska said Friday she held a meeting with the Minister of Finance and the unions earlier in the day, and that the unions have come out with new demands before the signing of the General Collective Agreement. The Minister added that the requests will be reviewed at the next Economic and Social Council, to be held on Tuesday, and the agreement will be signed.

Skopje, 14 July 2023 (MIA) – Minister of Labor and Social Policy, Jovanka Trenchevska said Friday she held a meeting with the Minister of Finance and the unions earlier in the day, and that the unions have come out with new demands before the signing of the General Collective Agreement. The Minister added that the requests will be reviewed at the next Economic and Social Council, to be held on Tuesday, and the agreement will be signed.
“This morning we had a meeting with the Minister of Finance and the Confederation of Unions, which agreed with the methodology at the last meeting, but in the meantime came out with a few new demands. We will review these demands as well, and we expect the Economic and Social Council to meet on Tuesday and review the final text, and sign the General Collective Agreement,” said Trenchevska.
The Labor Minister added that the new demands are related to the unions in the fields of education and healthcare.
“We should have the agreed text of the General Collective Agreement by Tuesday, review it at the Economic and Social Council alongside the social partners and then sign it,” Trenchevska underlined.
