Zhelino, 22 May 2025 (MIA) - Stay calm, no such thing will happen, said Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski on Thursday regarding reports that the UK strategic partnership agreement includes taking in migrants.

"The British Ambassador gave a clear answer to this question, which is that there is absolutely no such thing. The topic was imposed after the Albanian PM signed an agreement with an EU counterpart over the construction of camps for tens of thousands of migrants. This topic spilled over here but it is now closed. I understand that the opposition is trying to ruffle feathers, put a stain on this strategic agreement and hurt the reputation of the Government. Stay calm, no such thing will happen," PM Mickoski told reporters.

According to him, the UK agreement will be transparently presented in the Parliament.

"Today we are signing the agreement and then the document will reach the Parliament. We are not hiding anything, we are not abusing the EU-flag procedure, lawmakers will see what the project entails, including the construction of the Tabanovce-Gevgelija railway, completion of the Clinical Center in Shtip and a Faculty of Medicine campus, construction of the hospital in Kichevo and complete rehabilitation of the Tetovo Clinical Hospital. We will not stop there because at least 60 percent of the framework will still be available," said Mickoski.
