Skopje, 24 February 2025 (MIA) - Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi met Monday with Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) Secretary General Amer Kapetanović and referred to the need to intensify regional cooperation and improve neighborly ties in the area, amid geopolitical shifts across the globe, with the aim of maintaining peace and stability in the region.

Speaker Gashi said North Macedonia is paying big attention to regional cooperation as a key component for the area's Euro-integration, continually taking part in the activities of regional organizations and initiatives, the Parliament said in a press release.

Kapetanović said RCC plays an operational role in the South-East European Cooperation Process and serves as a valuable political platform that contributes to the region's stabilization, as well as economic development and social progress in Southeast Europe.

This cooperation is focused on aspects that unify the region based on the principle of inclusivity. Cooperation is based on the real needs of all citizens in the region and has a tendency of increased networking among people, companies and institutions through regional initiatives, reads the press release.
