Spasovski: UN support and expertise in negotiating process is welcome

Skopje, 23 February 2023 (MIA) - Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski met Thursday with United Nations (UN) Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia, Gwi-Yeop Son, and UN Resident Coordinator in North Macedonia, Rossana Dudziak.
Participants in the meeting pointed out that the Ministry of Interior is a key, strategic partner of the UN agencies in the country.
Interlocutors agreed that mutual cooperation is at a very high level and deepens by the year, the Ministry of Interior said in a press release.
According to the Ministry, Spasovski and Son used the opportunity to discuss the dynamics of North Macedonia's EU accession negotiations.
"Interlocutors pointed out that the UN agencies are available in the function of support. Minister Spasovski briefed the interlocutors on the screening process and its results, highligting that any help and expertise of the UN in the negotiating process is welcome," reads the press release.
In addition, Spasovski expressed confidence that projects and activities started will be fully implemented and will give the expected and projected results, thanks to the excellent cooperation with the agencies and the UN Office in the country.
