Skopje, 14 August 2025 (MIA) - Protection and Rescue Directorate (PRD) director Stojanche Angelov said Thursday the expansion of the wildfire in Jasen National Park has been prevented.

"The fire expension has been stopped through swift, energetic and decisive action, using several Army vehicles that have been adapted for this purpose," said Angelov.

He also thanked the Army and police, Skopje firefighters, and Jasen NP and National Forests staff for their efforts.

Earlier, the Crisis Management Center said that 19 wildfires were registered nationwide by noon, eight of which are active, while 11 have been extinguished.
