Skopje, 14 August 2025 (MIA) - Police officers on Thursday detained two people in Kumanovo and Tetovo on suspicion of causing fires, the Ministry of Interior said in a press release. 

"On Thursday at 6:30 pm, police officers from the Kumanovo police detained a person identified by the initials S.S. (57) from Kumanovo, due to reasonable suspicion of having committed the crime of 'causing general danger. Namely, in the Rajkova Kukja settlement towards the village of Nikulski Pat, he caused a fire, burning dry grass, an Audi passenger vehicle, an abandoned house and fields. Also, at 8 pm, at a place called Brest near the village of Chelopek, police officers from the Zherovjane police detained a person identified by the initials I.M. (41) from the village of Chelopek due to reasonable suspicion of arson," reads the press release. 

The Ministry said measures are being taken to clear up the case and appropriate charges will follow.
