Skopje, 22 November 2024 (MIA) - Skopje’s public transport is back to normal on Friday after a two-day disruption due to a fuel shortage, the head of the Public Transport Enterprise (JSP), Dragi Kushovski, told MIA.
“The public transport is back to normal today. All lines are being services, just as before the emergence of the issue with the fuel shortage. All buses that are operational are servicing their lines,” Kushovski said.
Asked if JSP had received all the fuel from the national reserves that the Government decided to lend to the Enterprise in a bid to solve the issue, Kushovski said it is being delivered successively, and that the current deliveries are sufficient for now.
Public transport in the capital city was disrupted on Wednesday and Thursday due to a lack of fuel. At an emergency session on Thursday, the Government decided to lend the Enterprise a week’s worth of fuel from the national reserves.
A protest is expected to be held on Friday afternoon in Skopje due to the situation with the city's public transport.
