Skopje, 20 March 2023 (MIA) – During a panel discussion on the digitization of education within an event celebrating the 20-year anniversary of the American University of Europe – FON, Minister of Education and Science Jeton Shaqiri said the Ministry of Education and Science is focused on full digitization of all educational processes.

Many educational services, he points out, have been digitized, such as enrollment in elementary and high school, enrollment in the Sports Academy, codification of diplomas obtained abroad for elementary, high school and higher education, all sorts of scholarships,  dorm housing, subsidized meals and scientific competitions.

The Minister said that the Ministry and Bureau for the Development of Education developed the Eduino portal, backed by UNICEF and the British Government, meant for setting up and using digital educational resources, and it is also a remote learning system. The newest online modules enable a continuous professional development of teachers and an e-library for students and teachers.

Digital interactive learning materials for the fourth grade have been designed and created as part of the education digitization process in 2021, he pointed out. They were made based on the new Elementary Education Conception in order to help students better understand the content in accordance with the new 4^th grade curriculum.

“We will keep traditional paper textbooks in elementary and high school in the future, but we will also provide digital versions to ease access,” the Minister added.dk/nn/
