Skopje, 10 May 2025 (MIA) - The EU integration process is one of the government’s top priorities. We’ve defined one single goal – to do our best to make the dream of European Macedonia come true, Deputy Minister of European Affairs Viktorija Trajkov said Saturday in an address at the panel discission of the Academy for European Integration “A Roundtable: North Macedonia’s EU path: Challenges and Opportunities in 2025”.
By implementing the European agenda and reforms, the process of joining the EU will be much easier, she stressed.
“We’re aware the Union expects us to deliver concrete results and we are ready to use our entire human and institutional potential in order to join the European family as soon as possible. We’re tired of promises and conditioning we are not ready to yield to. The new government has drawn a red line. The red line is our Macedonian identity, which we won’t allow to be burdened by bilateral issues. Although we have been in the EU’s threshold for too long, unjustly, we have no other choice but to move forward,” Trajkov said.

The event was opened and moderated by law professor Vasko Naumovski, former deputy premier for European affairs and former ambassador to the United States.
It also saw addresses by Maria Berger, judge at the European Court of Justice, MEP Klaus Wolfer, former Director for Southeast Europe and EU Enlargement at the Austrian Foreign Ministry, and Gerhard Jarosz, Head of International Criminal Law at the LGP Group and former Deputy Chief Prosecutor in Vienna.
