Skopje, 16 July 2024 (MIA) - The wildfire on Serta mountain will be extinguished from the air and ground on Tuesday, using four helicopters and three aircraft, as well as members of the army and police, firefighters, employees in National Forests and utility enterprises, hunters and volunteers.
Crisis Management Center (CMC) director Stojanche Angelov said early this morning that all fires across the country are under partial control.
"The Serta fire will be in our focus if the other blazes do not require aerial operations,' said Angelov.
The Serta fire has been raging for several days due to the inaccessible terrain, affecting the regions of Shtip and Negotino.
Turkey has already sent two firefighting aircraft and one helicopter in support of the fire extinguishing operations, whereas two helicopters from Slovenia are expected today, as are one helicopter each from Serbia and Montenegro.
The fire over the town of Radovish has been put under control. A fire is also active near Bitola, with a dozen others as well.
