Gashi: Parliamentary majority is stable regardless of Vlen turbulence

Skopje, 27 April 2025 (MIA) - The parliamentary majority is stable regardless of the ongoing turbulence in the Vlen coalition, says Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi.

Speaker Gashi tells Radio Free Europe that the parliamentary elections should take place in their regular slot.

"There is no need for panic, the parliamentary majority is stable and I believe that we should continue to do our job regardless of those coming in or going out. There won't be any major changes in the number of MPs, we already have about two-thirds. On the other hand, the local elections are getting closer and I think we should not be caught in that fever and adrenalin. We must see the local elections as they are, discussing water supply and sewerage systems, cleaner streets, lighting, and high-level politics should be excluded from this. Therefore, I would separate this issue from the one about the parliamentary majority, I think we should give citizens some political stability. Local elections are an entirely different topic," says Gashi.
