Romanian national saved via 112 emergency number through cooperation with Greek service

Skopje, 30 July 2023 (MIA) - A Romanian national with a heart issue, who was staying in Gevgelija, has been saved via the 112 emergency number through cooperation with the Greek service, said the Crisis Management Center (CMC) on Sunday.

The call was received late yesterday, and probably due to the proximity to the border, the initial call was registered at a base station in Greece. The Greek service immediately communicated with the Macedonian counterpart service, which located the Romanian national. An ambulance was sent to the location and he received life-saving treatment.

"This case of cooperation between North Macedonia and Greece to save a national of a third country demonstrates the capabilities of countries having the 112 common emergency number," said the CMC.
