President Pendarovski receives credentials of new Apostolic Nuncio, Archbishop Luciano Suriani
Skopje, 27 July 2022 (MIA) – President Stevo Pendarovski received on Wednesday copies of credentials of Archbishop Luciano Suriani, newly appointed Apostolic Nuncio of the Holy See to the Republic of North Macedonia, based in Sofia.   President Pendarovski expresses satisfaction with the successful development of bilateral relations between North Macedonia and the Holy See, noting it is a reflection of mutual understanding and sincere respect, as reaffirmed during the visit of His Holiness, Pope Francis, in May 2019, the President’s office said in a press release.   “The Republic of North Macedonia, with its historical past, the authentic and everyday experience of coexistence and tolerance, and with its position, as a respectable member of the international community, fully contributes to building understanding and respect for cultures throughout the world. Such commitment will represent yet another bridge in the relations between our two countries,” said Pendarovski.   Apostolic Nuncio Suriani expressed satisfaction with the beginning of the mission in North Macedonia.   “On my part, I will devote my best efforts to strengthen and deepen the already well-established relations between the Holy See and the Republic of North Macedonia,” said Apostolic Nuncio Suriani.   Pendarovski wished Archbishop Suriani success in his mission.
