Pendarovski in Mavrovo: Mickoski seeks coalition partners' votes for Siljanovska

Mavrovo, 28 April 2024 (MIA) – SDSM’s presidential candidate Stevo Pendarovski during Sunday’s meeting with the citizens of the Mavrovo-Rostusha municipality, commented on the events between the two rounds of the presidential elections and request of VMRO-DPMNE leader for transfer of the votes from other candidates to their candidate, Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova.

“From today's statements by the leader of VMRO-DPMNE, it appears that he has gone to other parties, with whom he allegedly already has a coalition agreement, asking them to transfer their votes to the opposing candidate. Let the citizens decide and on May 8, if you have the power, lead the country forward. But in the meantime, being unsure of what you offer as a political concept, asking for help and support from others because you know that your candidate may not be able to handle the entire task alone, is unfair to the entire nation and all Macedonian citizens,” Pendarovski said.

He pointed out that he expects a significant portion of the votes from the five candidates who dropped out after the first round on May 8 to support number one.

“In the second round, we start from scratch, and here we truly have a great chance to emerge as winners in the end. The five candidates who were eliminated collectively garnered 330,000 votes. Publicly, loudly, and clearly, I say that out of those 330,000 votes, the majority, a vast majority, are aligned with what we have been propagating, advocating, and saying for years,” Pendarovski noted.
