Skopje, 13 November 2023 (MIA) — In September 2023, North Macedonia welcomed 124,800 tourists, of whom 34,769 (27.9%) were domestic tourists and 90,031 (72.1%) were foreign tourists, according to the latest figures released by the State Statistical Office.

“The number of nights spent in September 2023 was 256,831, of which 34.3% were by domestic and 65.7% by foreign tourists,” the press release says.

Between January and September 2023, compared to the same months in 2022, the number of visitors rose by 21.8%, with the number of domestic tourists increasing by 0.5% and that of foreign tourists increasing by 40.3%.

Between January and September 2023, compared to the same months in 2022, visitors spent 10.2% more nights in North Macedonia. Domestic tourists spent 1.5% more nights and foreign tourists spent 24.7% more nights in the country. mr/
