Skopje, 14 March 2023 (MIA) - The National Bank will host on March 23-24 the annual full forum of the Vienna Initiative - an international cooperation framework for maintaining financial stability in the region of Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe (CESEE).
"This is one of the largest annual gatherings in the area of finance in Europe, where all relevant stakeholders, international financial institutions, European financial institutions, regulators and representatives of the private financial sector discuss future directions in policies related to the banking sector, and more generally, macroeconomic issues, said the National Bank.
The forum in Skopje will bring together governors of the central banks from CESEE and representatives of the European Investment Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, the European Central Bank and the European Commission, as well as the banking sector.
The Vienna Initiative is a platform which brings together key International Financial Institutions (IFIs), international organisations, public authorities and private banks to coordinate responses to pressing financial sector issues in emerging Europe. It was established through the coordination of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the European Investment Bank, the European Commission, the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank during the first wave of the Global Financial Crisis in 2009.
The European Bank Coordination “Vienna” Initiative is a framework for safeguarding the financial stability of emerging Europe.
