Murtezani - Kos: Readiness for continuation of constructive dialogue with all partners to ensure successful EU membership path

Skopje, 5 February 2025 (MIA) - Minister of European Affairs Orhan Murtezani met Wednesday in Brussels with European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Marta Kos, discussing the country's EU integration reform efforts and the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans.
Minister Murtezani presented the progress in implementation of North Macedonia's Reform Agenda, noting that the Government is actively working on meeting the targets, whereas the Agenda's successful implementation will be a significant factor in the country's progress on the EU path, the Ministry of European Affairs said in a press release.
Murtezani highlighted the country's commitment to full implementation of the Growth Plan, which will be in the focus of next month's meeting of Western Balkans leaders in Skopje. He also voiced assurance that the country is ready to continue with specific steps that will bring it closer to the Union.
"North Macedonia remains committed to its strategic interests for successful implementation of our European portfolio. We are ready to undertake the required reforms and focus on principled solutions in the interest of the country and its citizens. We will achieve our goal - full-fledged Union membership - through stability, progress and constructive dialogue," said Murtezani.
Regarding the country's challenges on its European path, interlocutors also exchanged opinions on the constitutional amendments.
They agreed that goodneighborly relations are of crucial importance for the progress of North Macedonia's EU integration and that all solutions should be in line with the citizens' will. They committed to constructive dialogue and engagement with all partners, towards ensuring a successful EU membership path based on the principles of stability, reconciliation and mutual responsibility, reads the press release.
