Murtezani and Telatin discuss project on support to country's European accession

Skopje, 25 July 2024 (MIA) - Minister of European Affairs Orhan Murtezani met Thursday with UNOPS Head of Office Michela Telatin, discussing the project on Support to European Accession of North Macedonia, funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) and implemented by UNOPS Skopje. 

"The project's main goal is an efficient and effective process of the country's accession to the European Union, providing direct assistance in drafting the national version of the acquis, upgrading the NPAA platform, technical assistance in aligning legislation with the EU acquis and strengthening administrative capacities with engagement of national and international experts for the Ministry of European Affairs and other institutions," the Ministry of European Affairs said in a press release on Thursday. 

Murtezani extended gratitude for the continuous support and commitment of the UNOPS Office in Skopje, for strengthening the capacities of the Ministry of European Affairs in the context of the European integration process and the requirements arising therein. He pointed out that project and financial assistance is of crucial importance in achieving the goals of the reform agenda on the country's European path.

Telatin and Murtezani agreed that the partnership between the Ministry of European Affairs and UNOPS is an excellent example of commitment, close communication and cooperation in implementing projects of exceptional importance for the European future of the country and the region.
