MoH: Casirivimab/Imdevimab COVID-19 medicine arrives in country
Skopje, 15 July 2021 (MIA) – The Ministry of Health said Thursday the monoclonal “antibody cocktail” of medicines Casirivimab and Imdevimab, approved for use by the European Medicines Agency (EMA), has arrived in the country. The Ministry says they have managed to join the framework agreement that is exclusively available to EU member-states “The framework agreement with producer ‘Hoffman-La Roche, Ltd (Roche)’ from Switzerland has been signed by 19 EU members, Norway and North Macedonia. Funds for the procurement have been secured through the World Bank project for urgent management of the COVID-19 crisis. The therapy is procured for the needs of the Clinic for Infectious Diseases and will be applied to non-hospitalized COVID-19 patients, thus reducing the need for hospitalizations,” says the Ministry. Casirivimab/imdevimab is an artificial “antibody cocktail” designed to produce resistance against the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus responsible for the COVID-19 pandemic.
