Athens, 16 March 2025 (MIA) - Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitzotakis expressed Sunday "heartfelt condolences" over the deadly fire that broke out in a Kochani nightclub, killing at least 50, MIA reports from Athens.

"Heartfelt condolences to the people of North Macedonia for the lives lost in the tragic fire in Kočani. My thoughts are with the victims and their families, and I wish a speedy recovery to the injured, he wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Greece stands ready to assist in this difficult time, the PM added.

Earlier, Greek Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis also expressed Greece’s readiness to provide all necessary assistance, including rescue teams and medical assistance in a phone call with Foreign Minister Timcho Mucunski.
