Minister Bozhinovska, Energy Community's Lorkowski discuss new energy law

Skopje, 2 July 2024 (MIA) - Plans in the energy field related to electricity production were in the focus of discussions at a meeting of Minister of Energy Sanja Bozhinovska and Energy Community Secretariat Director, Artur Lorkowski, on Tuesday.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the informal meeting of Energy Community member-states Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.

Bozhinovska and Lorkowski discussed the adoption of a new Law on Energy, for which the country has been given a deadline until September 15, the Government said in a press release.

Bozhinovska referred to the planned projects of the new Ministry of Energy, Mining and Minerals towards reducing the room for corruption and abuse to the minimum. The ministry will focus on capital investments that will bring stability in the country's electricity production on the long run.

Next week, Lorkowski is set to elaborate the Energy Community's guidelines and state of play in the energy sector before MPs, reads the press release.
