Mickoski: We will not agree on Bulgarians' inclusion in Constitution under these conditions
- We will not agree on Bulgarians' inclusion in the Constitution under these conditions, now or in the future, says VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski.
Skopje, 13 October 2023 (MIA) - We will not agree on Bulgarians' inclusion in the Constitution under these conditions, now or in the future, says VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski.
Mickoski told radio Lider that while he is VMRO-DPMNE leader and if conditions don't change, a revision will not happen regardless if VMRO-DPMNE heads the Government or not, "out of principle".
According to him, Bulgaria has not demonstrated good will to North Macedonia until now.
"What has Bulgaria manifested as a sign of good will? I don't see any signals except silence," says Mickoski.
Asked about the coming presidential elections, the VMRO-DPMNE leader says the party will not boycott the polls.
"VMRO-DPMNE goes into these elections as the favorite, and I have said on several occasions that the party candidate will have about 100,000 more votes than the one of SDSM and DUI after the first round. There is no need for us to boycott," adds Mickoski.
He says the current authorities are being irresponsible towards the state and its resources.
"If you care for the country, you must care for its resources as well. The question is does Macedonia have enough resources to hold three election cycles in such a brief period, considering the two rounds of the presidential elections. A logical analysis shows that the presidential runoff should take place in parallel with the parliamentary elections. Let's have a leaders' meeting and agree on the dates, we will have a campaign in a few months' time," says Mickoski.
