Mickoski holds phone call with Borisov, expects formation of government to remove obstacles on our path to the EU
- Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski had a phone call on Monday with Boyko Borisov, the leader of the right-wing GERB party, which won the most votes in Bulgaria's parliamentary elections. During the call, he expressed confidence that a stable center-right government will be formed in Bulgaria, which will help to overcome the obstacles hindering North Macedonia’s progress towards European Union membership.
Skopje, 28 October 2024 (MIA) – Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski had a phone call on Monday with Boyko Borisov, the leader of the right-wing GERB party, which won the most votes in Bulgaria's parliamentary elections. During the call, he expressed confidence that a stable center-right government will be formed in Bulgaria, which will help to overcome the obstacles hindering North Macedonia’s progress towards European Union membership.
"Today, I had an open and friendly phone conversation with Mr. Boyko Borisov during which I was pleased to congratulate him on the victory of the sister party GERB in the parliamentary elections in Bulgaria. During the call, he expressed confidence that a stable center-right government will be formed in Bulgaria, which will help to overcome the obstacles hindering North Macedonia’s progress towards European Union membership. I believe that together, through cooperation and dialogue, we can build a brighter future for the citizens of both our countries," Prime Minister Mickoski wrote on Facebook.
He expects that Macedonian-Bulgarian relations will continue to develop in a positive and constructive direction, led, as he says, by respect and understanding, for the benefit of everyone.
