Skopje, 27 May 2025 (MIA) - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Environment and Physical Planning Izet Mexhiti and Minister of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources Sanja Bozhinovska promoted the Avant2Go Car-Sharing project on Tuesday which, they said, will be cheaper than getting a taxi and 20 percent more economical than using a personal vehicle, costing Mden 22 per kilometer.
Vehicles can be rented through the Avant2Go Car-Sharing apps on the App Store and the Google Store.
One hundred electric vehicles have been procured for Skopje for now, with more expected in the period to come. There are also plans to provide vehicles for other cities in the country.

“Avant2Go isn’t just a technological novelty, but also a strategic investment in the environment, transport and the economic future of the country. Improving air quality, reducing noise and the number of vehicles, support for the national and European green policies, as well as economic benefits for the citizens will be just a few of the benefits of this project,” the Deputy Prime Minister said.
Mexhiti said using fully electric vehicles means zero emissions of toxic fumes, which directly contributes to the reduction of air pollution, especially in urban areas.

Minister Bozhinovska expressed hope that more electric vehicles will be procured soon and that they will be charged using electricty from renewable sources of energy.
“The mayors provided parking spaces, currently there are 100 vehicles and they can park in several buildings. I hope that this is just the beginning, there will be more than 100 vehicles. Prices will be cheaper than taxis. Regarding the chargers, the day before yesterday we promoted guarantees for the origin, which means renewable sources. I hope that the chargers that will be used will be from renewable sources, in line with EU practices,” Bozhinovska said.
The Government launched the project in December 2024.
