Shtip, 27 September 2023 (MIA) - Deputy PM for European Affairs Bojan Marichikj said Wednesday over EUR 1 billion have been invested over the past seven years for construction and rehabilitation of roads.

"The country is a big construction site for new and rehabilitated road network. This is a year of historic investments, capital investments in the road network according to European standards, a network of roads and railroads that will ensure links to Europe and the globe, investments left to future generations," Deputy PM Marichikj told an open debate in Shtip.

He added that Macedonian road corridors are part of the European corridors VIII and X, making the country a crossroad of the continent, which is of exceptional importance for the development of the EU and the region.

The Shtip debate is part of campaign "We Are Europe", organized by the Secretariat for European Affairs across the country.
