Skopje, 22 March 2023 (MIA) - France is among North Macedonia's most important friends and has a key role in many important processes such as the French proposal that restored hope for opening the country's European integration process, concurred Minister of Justice Krenar Lloga and French Ambassador Cyril Baumgartner at a meeting on Wednesday.
Lloga briefed Ambassador Baumgartner on the preparation of the 2023-2027 Judicial Reform Strategy, as well as projects on digitization of the judiciary and the prosecution, which will greatly influence the suppression of corruption and abuses, the Ministry of Justice said in a press release.
Ambassador Baumgartner welcomed the Minister's ambitious plans for reforms of the entire justice and prosecution system and expressed France's readiness to assist in all these processes in different ways, including expert support.
He also evaluated as positive Minister Lloga's engagement to establish a dialogue with the opposition, starting with the electoral reform, and encouraged him to continue with such processes, which are essential for the country's European integration path.
Lloga and Baumgartner also discussed about the vetting process, with Minister Lloga reiterating the position that this process should be confidential and implemented with EU and US support.
