Kovachevski welcomes region’s leaders: Open Balkan opens new perspectives for our countries
Ohrid, 7 June 2022 (MIA) – Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski welcomed Tuesday evening the region’s leaders who are set to participate in Wednesday’s official part of the Open Balkan Summit in Ohrid. Ahead of the working dinner Kovachevski welcomed Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, Montenegro Prime Minister Dritan Abazović, and the President of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zoran Tegeltija. “Open Balkan leaves the past behind. Instead of walls, Open Balkan builds bridges. It opens new perspectives for our countries, our people, our economies and our societies,” Kovachevski stressed in his welcoming address ahead of the working dinner. Kovachevski pointed out that the Open Balkan initiative erases borders between the people of the countries in the region and through mutual cooperation and connection, it achieves the common vision of sharing European values, the Government said in a press release. “Open Balkan connects us with a clear, open and public intention for our people to experience the direct economic benefits of what we provide. Together with President Vučić and Prime Minister Rama we agreed that there’s no reason to put on hold the Europeanization and implementation of European values in North Macedonia, Serbia and Albania. We reiterate that the invitation to join the Open Balkan initiative is open to all countries in the region. Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina are with us here tonight and I hope that this initiative will expand,” said Kovachevski. Welcoming the guests, PM Kovachevski wished for a successful and prosperous summit with new ideas for the development of the region and benefits for all citizens.
