Skopje, 21 February 2023 (MIA) - Today, on International Mother Language Day, we celebrate the importance and beauty of the language that shapes our identity and cultural heritage, Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski posted on Facebook.
"Our mother language is not only a means of communication, but a reflection of our history, traditions and values, passed down from generation to generation. As a diverse and multilingual society, North Macedonia is proud of its rich linguistic heritage, consisting of many languages and dialects. Each of these languages has its own unique charm and contributes to the cultural wealth of our country," Kovachevski said on International Mother Language Day.
The Prime Minister points out that on this day we recognize the importance of our mother language and the vital role it plays in preserving our heritage and promoting our cultural identity.
"As a government, we remain committed to promoting and protecting the language rights of all our citizens. We recognize the value of multilingualism and are committed to creating an environment where all languages can thrive. Happy International Mother Language Day!," reads Kovachevski's Facebook post.
