Skopje, 20 June 2024 (MIA) - A family of four in North Macedonia needed Mden 60,325 to cover the minimal consumer basket in June, which is an increase of Mden 235 compared to May, said the Federation of Trade Union (SSM) on Thursday.

The value of the consumer basket for June 2024 compared to January of this year with Mden 57.163 is now Mden 57,163, which is an increase of Mden 3,162 or 5.5 percent.

Of this amount, Mden 21,952 or 36.4 percent are required for food and beverages, Mden 7,022 (11.2 percent) for education, Mden 6,014 (10 percent) for rent, water, electricity, and heating bills, Mden 4,962 (8.1 percent) for clothes, Mden 4,871 (8.1 percent) for transport, Mden 4,378 (7.3 percent) for recreation and culture, Mden 3,890 (6.4 percent) for restaurants and hotels, Mden 1,827 for personal hygiene, Mden 1,069 (1.8 percent) for health, and Mden 1,100 (1.8 percent) for other services. ssh/ba/
