Joveski: Highest priority for Public Prosecutor's Office is to ensure justice for citizens
Skopje, October 25, 2022 (MIA) - The working agreement for cooperation with the European Public Prosecutor's Office that was signed on Monday is the best proof of the commitment with which the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of North Macedonia strives to reach European standards in its operations, said Chief Public Prosecutor Ljubomir Joveski on the occasion of October 25 – the European Day of Justice.
"The highest priority for the Public Prosecutor's Office is to ensure justice for the citizens of our country, which will directly contribute to the adoption of European values in Macedonian society," Joveski stressed. The latest EC Report notes moderate progress of the country in fulfilling the obligationscriteria of Chapters 23 and 24, part of which include the work of the public prosecution.
"The report states the next tasks in the period ahead, but also correctly detects the challenges we face, particularly in the area of material conditions and staffing. These are issues that require the engagement of all resources in order to be overcome, in order to create all the necessary preconditions for faster progress in key reforms," Joveski added. dk/nn/
