Skopje, 27 January 2024 (MIA) – It is our responsibility to preserve the truth about the Holocaust, the memory of the injustices committed and the millions of victims, and to oppose every evil that stems from stereotypes, fear and mutual misunderstanding, because that is the only way to ensure that we have justice and peace, said President Stevo Pendarovski in a message Saturday on occasion of International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
“Today’s day marks one of the most terrifying atrocities in the history of humankind and reminds us of what intolerance and lack of respect for diversity can lead to. It is our responsibility to preserve the truth about the Holocaust, the memory of the injustices committed and the millions of victims, and to oppose every evil that stems from stereotypes, fear and mutual misunderstanding, because that is the only way to ensure that we have justice and peace. To that end, we should continue to raise up new generations in the spirit of moral values, respect for the differences and human rights of every individual, and to build a society in which there is no room for discrimination, xenophobia, antisemitism, antigypsyism and racism,” President Pendarovski said in the message.
