Skopje, 24 April 2024 (MIA) — The country's security situation is good and Election Day is proceeding with no disruptions at polling places, caretaker Interior Minister Panche Toshkovski told reporters after casting his vote for President.

After voting at Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi Elementary in Centar, Toshkovski commented on the good weather and said he hoped it would encourage voter turnout and that the atmosphere at the polls would be peaceful, fair and democratic.

Asked about the numbers of law enforcement officers at the polling stations, he said that "qualitatively and quantitatively the numbers are as they should be."

"The Ministry of Interior is acting on the operational plan drawn up by our Operations Headquarters. Everything is going according to plan," he said, expressing his hope that Election Day proceeds in an orderly way. mr/
