Bitola, 2 October 2023 (MIA) - The National Opera and Ballet performance of Rita opera by Gaetano Donizetti is to open the 32nd Interfest International Festival of Classical Music in Bitola on Monday.

The roles in the opera include Ana Rojdeva, Jane Dunimagloski, Neven Siljanovski and Borko Bidzovski, while Ivan Eminovikj is the conductor.

The festival that traditionally runs until October 12 will feature artists from North Macedonia, Spain, Italy, Ukraine, Austria, Croatia, Portugal, and Ireland.

Japanese opera singer Kazuhiro Kotetsu, accompanied by the Bitola Chamber Orchestra, will hold a concert on Oct. 11 performing opera arias and Macedonian traditional songs at the Centre for Culture.

The programme also includes an exhibition by artists Dragan Andjelkovikj and Slobodan Vignjevikj and a poetry evening ‘100 years Aco Shopov’ at the Bitola’s Officers’ House.
