Grubi - Reka: North Macedonia and Albania to hold joint government session on Nov. 14
Skopje, October 18, 2022 (MIA) - First Deputy PM and Minister of Political System and Inter-Community Relations Artan Grubi met with Albanian Ambassador Fatos Reka on Tuesday, for talks on coordinating details of a joint session with the Government of the Republic of Albania which will be held on November 14 in Skopje.
Important agreements are expected to be signed at the session, as the two countries are fully committed to the growth of cooperation and deepening of relations in several areas, including the economy, which simultaneously increases the competitiveness of companies in the countries of the region.
"Capital projects between the two countries were discussed at the meeting with Ambassador Reka, while Corridor 8 and the railway line as two important projects that will connect not only the Republic of North Macedonia and the Republic of Albania, but also the countries of the region were named as favorable initiatives at a time when the countries are on the path to membership in the European Union," Grubi's office said in a press release.
Talks also tackled the implementation of the "One stop shop" project, which is expected to shorten the time of customs and border controls.
"The concept of joint border controls and simpler procedures at the border crossing leads to speeding up and simplifying the circulation at the border crossings and this initiative should be put into operation as soon as possible," the press release reads.

At the meeting, Grubi also expressed his support for the call by the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe to review Resolution 1782 regarding the investigation of allegations of inhuman treatment of people and illicit trafficking in human organs in Kosovo, as a strong message to Europe for the will of an unwavering pro-Western partnership and the tireless dream of integration, but also the completely legitimate demands and national rights for Kosovo and its just war. dk/nn/
