Gov’t tasks SEA with updating key agenda by Nov. 22
Skopje, 2 November 2021 (MIA) – In line with the European Commission report, the government has tasked the Secretariat for European Affairs (SEA), in cooperation with relevant ministries, to update the Europe at Home Agenda in accordance with the short-term priorities of the 2021 progress report on North Macedonia by November 22, 2021 at the latest. “Government ministers discussed and passed also an information on key findings and recommendations from the 2021 European Commission report, which concluded that the country keeps on meeting conditions for opening accession negotiations and that the authorities have been publicly demonstrating their strong commitment to the country’s progress on its EU path,” the government said in a press release. The Commission, it noted, urges the member countries without delay to adopt the negotiating framework and to hold the first intergovernmental conference. “The delay in the official opening of accession negotiations has impacted the EU’s credibility,” the government mentioned.
