Skopje, 21 February 2023 (MIA) - The Government at its Tuesday's session adopted the 2023 program for financial support of rural development, worth a total of Mden 1.3 billion. The program was proposed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy.  

The Agriculture Ministry notes that the rural development support program is growing into an investment program that helps the development and modernization of domestic agriculture, as well as the development and improvement of living conditions in villages.

The rural development program provides among other support for the international promotion of Macedonian agricultural products through participation in fairs and promotional events with the aim of opening new markets for the placement of domestic agricultural products.

In addition, according to the Agriculture Ministry, funds have been provided for the smooth performance of activities of the National Rural Network, which is a new platform, a tool based on the European model, which offers farmers information on all measures and activities available to them in one place.

"As a Ministry, we are creating specific measures to support, develop and modernize Macedonian agriculture," the Agriculture Ministry said in a press release.
