Foreign Ministry: 100 Macedonian passports issued via London-based embassy
Skopje, 11 December 2021 (MIA) – A hundred biometric passports are being issued via North Macedonia’s embassy in London. The establishment of a base station at the embassy facilitated the process, shortening waiting time to three weeks, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release. “This is a historic moment for this embassy. Macedonian nationals who live and work in England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland can now renew their passports much more quickly and efficiently. Everyone who visited the embassy in the past four weeks had a positive reaction. This motivates the embassy team to continue serving citizens efficiently,” said Macedonian Ambassador to the UK Aleksandra Miovska. The Foreign Ministry underlined that by establishing base and mobile stations at Macedonian diplomatic and consular offices, it aims to meet the diaspora’s needs. “Improving services offered by diplomatic and consular offices is one of the Foreign Ministry’s top priorities,” the release read, stressing intentions for expanding the project. Macedonian nationals in the UK previously had to wait four to six months to get new passports.
