FM Osmani: International partners launch initiatives to settle differences as Skopje and Sofia remain in regular contact
Skopje, 1 June 2022 (MIA) – Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani says he is in regular contact with his Bulgarian counterpart Teodora Genchovska so as to settle the differences during the French EU presidency, which ends in June. “There are numerous initiatives taken by our international partners to get involved in the negotiations with their ideas, including of course France as the current holder of the presidency of the Council of the EU. All parties involved in the process are making utmost efforts to provide a proposal on the table to lift the veto to our EU integration process, which will be at the same time in line with the positions included in the declaration passed in Parliament. The government is committed to this document,” Osmani says in a Facebook post. He stresses he is in regular contact with Bulgarian Minister Genchovska “to make sure the talks are intensified in the coming period at all levels between the two ministries so as to settle the differences during France’s EU presidency.” FM Osmani is paying a working visit to Washington as part of the strategic dialogue between North Macedonia and the United States. “I feel the obligation to respond to certain matters sent to the Foreign Ministry regarding the negotiations ongoing with the Republic of Bulgaria,” he says in the post.
