FM Osmani: France to join firefighting efforts as of Wednesday
Skopje, 10 August 2021 (MIA) - Following the assistance received from the EU member states including Austria, Slovenia, Romania and Bulgaria, as well as from neighbouring Serbia, as of Wednesday France will join the firefighting efforts in the country, Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani wrote Tuesday on Facebook. As of Wednesday morning, Osmani said, three generals from the French fire service, who are one of the best experts in high-risk fires, will be deployed in the country. The aid from France will also include highly sophisticated equipment consisted of drones that will greatly help in identifying, mapping and early detecting the potential fire hotspots as an important part of the overall firefighting operation. “France's aid comes as a result of their high expertise in extinguishing forest fires, and following the successful coordination of our diplomatic network. Solidarity and help from our allies in these times of crisis is more than welcome in overcoming the crisis, and it is also a true expression of European solidarity," Osmani wrote on Facebook.
