Ohrid, 17 March 2023 (MIA) – The first spine surgery using the latest generation of robotic microscope was performed Friday in the PHO Special Hospital for Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology “St. Erasmus” in Ohrid.

Neurosurgeon Mitre Miloshevski wrote in a Facebook post that with this procedure the institution is keeping pace with the largest vertebrological centers.

“With over 120 vertobrological, open brain and nerve surgeries, ‘St. Erasmus’ stands side by side with the clinical center and deserves to have such state-of-the-art equipment that makes the surgeries secure and significantly shortens their duration. The patients, the medical staff and the surgeons deserve that,” wrote Miloshevski.

At the same time, Miloshevski expressed his hope that following this operation and with appropriate training, the hospital will be equipped with modern equipment that will solidify it as one of the most modern vertebrology centers in Europe. ad/sk/
