Skopje, 7 February 2023 (MIA) - Bloc 1 of mining-energy combine (REK) Bitola has been disconnected from the country's power grid since Tuesday morning due to interventions in the plant's pipeline system, as well as service and overhaul activities, said Power Plants of North Macedonia (ESM). 

According to ESM, Bloc 1 is expected to be reconnected to the national grid within the next 24 to 48 hours. 

REK Bitola's Bloc 2 and Bloc 3, adds the press release, are currently operating smoothly. Overhaul activities of Bloc 2 are scheduled for next week. 

"For this entire time, ESM meets the electricity needs of consumers through production from the rest of its capacities. There is no import of electricity," reads the press release.
