Skopje, 4 June 2023 (MIA) – In the period between January 2022 and May 2023, a total of 486 licenses were issued for stations producing electricity from renewable sources with a total installed capacity of 246.9 MW.
The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) said that the installed capacity can satisfy the needs of 96.700 households with an average consumption of electricity, from 12 cities in the country – Ohrid, Tetovo, Kratovo, Krushevo, Kriva Palanka, Sveti Nikole, Resen, Dojran, Debar, Vinica, Struga and Negotino.
“More and more companies and factories in the country produce electricity by themselves and their bills are drastically reduced, precisely because of the investments in photovoltaics. In the first five months of 2023, the ERC has issued licenses to stations with a total installed capacity of 94.6 MW, while the total installed capacity from renewable sources during all of 2022 stood at 152.2 MW,” said ERC President Marko Bislimoski.
