Skopje, 9 May 2023 (MIA) - The Ministry of Education and Science is launching a campaign to raise awareness, particularly among young people, about the importance of peace, non-violent and tolerant behavior in and outside schools.
The campaign's messages to all stakeholders in the education system are aimed at building a peaceful and harmonious school environment without any forms of violence, creating an environment in which young people will focus exclusively on the real goals of the education process, on acquiring knowledge and values that will make them good people, and violence will not be a topic of discussion at all. An environment is needed in which tolerance prevails, in which young people will respect each other's differences and will not see them as causes for conflicts.
"We will try to reach out to everyone, to students, teachers and other school employees, parents and guardians, to show that the contribution of each of us is important in achieving the goal. It is necessary to give preference to verbal dialogue between students and to peaceful conflict resolution. To raise awareness of the consequences of possible deviant behavior, which, as we have seen, can be devastating," the Education Ministry said in a press release.
The Education Ministry urges all citizens to report any form of violent behavior observed in schools to the e-mail addresses prijavinasilstvo@mon.gov.mk and paraqitdhune@mon.gov.mk in Albanian language, or to professional services in schools, in order to promptly respond and prevent more serious incidents and consequences.
Only together, reads the press release, we can put an end to violence in schools.
