Dutch companies' perception of business climate in the country presented

Skopje, 26 November 2024 (MIA) - Dutch companies have rated the business climate in the country at 5.7 on a scale of 1 to 10, a 6% improvement compared to the results of the previous survey conducted in 2022. Key factors influencing business expansion in the country include low operational costs, government support, growing demand for their products, and the ease of doing business, according to the 2024 survey results presented by Ambassador of Embassy of the Netherlands in North Macedonia Özlem Canel.

At an event attended by representatives from government institutions, economic chambers, the Dutch business sector, and business associations, it was stated that the results show that, on the other hand, the lack of qualified labor, the level of education and training, as well as corruption and the unpredictable business environment, were identified as major obstacles to doing business. Seventy-five percent of respondents believe that the availability of digital public services is very important for their efficient operation and cost reduction.

Almost all Dutch companies operating in the country are active in the field of corporate social responsibility, with a main focus on environmental protection, workplace safety, and employee welfare policies, according to the Embassy of the Netherlands.

The survey results were presented at an event marking the Day of the Entrepreneur in the Netherlands.

In her address, Ambassador Canel underscored the importance of entrepreneurs as a key driving force for innovation, progress, and social change.

Today, she said, the entrepreneurial spirit is celebrated, which, as she pointed out, is much more than starting a business. Entrepreneurship, according to her, also involves resilience, vision, and courage that lead to new opportunities and growth.
