DOM and LDP to continue as part of parliamentary majority, not in favor of early elections
Skopje, 1 November 2021 (MIA) – DOM leader Maja Morachanin and LDP leader Goran Milevski said prior to Monday’s coordination meeting in the Government they would continue to be a part of the parliamentary majority and did not favor early parliamentary elections.
“Even before the campaign started, when we formed the ‘Decisive for Changes’ movement, we said that we belong to the parliamentary majority, supporting the Government and not favoring early parliamentary elections because Macedonia needs stability amid an energy crisis and an ongoing covid-pandemic,” said Morachanin.
Asked if they would be part of another parliamentary majority, she said they neither held nor think of holding such talks.
“All we want is to speed up the process of reforms, intensify the fight against corruption and start EU accession negotiations,” added Morachanin.
She said they would not insist on outgoing PM Zoran Zaev keeping the post because the resignation is his personal decision.
“This is a personal decision made out of moral and ethical reasons. For us it is important to know the vision of the new PM and the new government. Let’s see the ideas and the expectations. The key lies in the programme of the new government, its commitments and priorities,” said Morachanin.
