Dimitrovska: Only 300 out of 1,500 institutions submitted data on official vehicle usage

Skopje, 18 March 2024 (MIA) - Tatjana Dimitrovska, the newly appointed president of the State Commission for Prevention of Corruption (SCPC), disclosed that only 25 percent, or 300 out of 1,500 institutions, have fulfilled the legal obligation to provide data on their official vehicle usage to the commission.

Dimitrovska, in an interview with MRTV, highlighted the weakness of the Electoral Code, which includes a misdemeanour proceeding but lacks sanctions.

According to the regulations stipulated in the Electoral Code, Dimitrovska explained that the SCPC is tasked with maintaining a register of official vehicles, which includes details about the institution using them, the vehicle's number, and its registration plate.

“By February 24, all institutions were required to provide this information. The SCPC has the authority to initiate misdemeanour proceedings within 15 days against institutions that have failed to submit the required data,” Dimitrovska said in an interview with MRTV.

Following the announcement of the elections, Dimitrovska highlighted that a total of 13 cases related to the electoral processes have been initiated.
